Testing Services

An important component of BSI's Biometric Application Services is the testing and evaluation of biometric products. The evaluation of products against common performance standards and conformance to industry standards is achieved through BSI's Qualified Product List (QPL) testing procedures.

NBSP's QPL testing program utilizes a set of public protocols for both biometric hardware and software testing to evaluate, identify, and certify commercially available biometric products in support of end-users or to assist decision makers. While some end-users may decide to specify even more stringent requirements for performance in certain applications, the QPL will provide a baseline for objective performance assessment.

QPL testing, along with customized testing, is conducted in BSI's ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories.

Whenever possible, BSI test operations cooperate and coordinate with, and rely on, the results of other public and private test programs and projects as long as their objectivity and testing discipline can be verified to meet the standards of performance adopted by BSI for operation of our internal test programs.
