Research
BSI's Research and Support Services provides scientific leadership, equipment and staff resources to conduct intensive research to further biometric sciences and their utilization. While the primary mission of Research Services is to conduct funded research to satisfy clients' information requirements regarding biometric products and technologies, the team also undertakes unfunded research from time to time to advance NBSP's strategic position as a leader in biometric sciences. As an example, in the area of social impact research, NBSP completed two studies that dealt with the relationship of biometric usage to U.S. and international privacy laws and has developed a guideline for the collection, use, dissemination, and storage of biometric data.
